Springwater

Dr Tim Liaow lives on the fringe of Sydney Harbour at Seaforth in an award-winning house designed by Peter Stutchbury. Through Stella Downer, Dr Liaow offered me a residency to create artworks inspired by Springwater, which is not only Dr Liaow’s home, but also a gallery for his impressive private art collection. During 2021, I visited Springwater numerous times gathering information about the house and getting to know Dr Liaow.  Springwater was the inaugural exhibition of solely oil paintings. It may have come as a surprise to some, but I first painted in oils as a teenager. I was returning to a medium I’d become enamored with as a fledgling artist.
