ART TRIP TO ITALY 1 – 6TH OCTOBER 2008
This newsletter is to keep you up to date with what’s happening in my world of botanical art.
I’d like to tell you about and invite you on my trip to Italy in October. Our hosts are Jakki and Russell who live 6 months of the year in their purpose built artist retreat, Villa Madonna, in the picturesque countryside just an hour north of Rome. I visited them last May and was made most welcome. I can account for their hospitality, fantastic food and local wine. We will spend five days at Villa Madonna where we will have art sessions’. You can bring your favourite art making equipment, particularly special paper and brushes, or use Jakki’s supply. Don’t limit your painting to botanical themes. Painting landscapes is also an option. Jakki is a talented ceramicist, so there is an opportunity to dabble in pottery as well. There are many walking paths following in the footsteps of Francis of Assisi which may interest some.
I am quite excited about this trip. Jakki has made an itinerary which, I think, will suit everyone. Of particular interest is the long Sunday lunch where no orders are taken, the food is presented one dish after another and quite often lasts until 5pm! No dinner that night!!

HAZELHURST CLASSES
- 12th and 13th July 2008 at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery at Gymea from 10 am until 4pm each day.
I'm going to concentrate on painting green leaves this weekend. Beginners are welcome but some drawing and watercolour experience is desirable.
